Born in the 90's, living in Oslo with my fiancé Christer and our 4 cats. I am passionate about animals in general and especially cats. In 2010 I decided to get a cat. After a lot of meticulous research I decided on a ragdoll. I eventually got in touch with Berit Huseby and Cecilie Midtgaard at NO*Glassrosens, and from them I bought my beloved Mellow Fellow, and later on 3 more cats. It's thanks to Berit and Cecilie that I am a breeder today, and they are now my "mentors". In 2013 I was offered the opportunity to be a host family for NO*Glassrosens Milja, and the agreement was that Milja was going to have two litters for their cattery before the ownership was to be transferred to me. The litters were born and grew up with me, and it was such an amazing experience that it led me to want to start my own little cattery. In 2016 I applied for the cattery name NO*Whimsical's, which was accepted by FIFé in May the same year.
The word "whimsical" originates from the old English "whimsy", which in turn stems from the term "whim-wham". Whim-wham is believed to be derived from the Old Norse "hvima", meaning something like "to let the eyes wander". Whimsical is used to describe something odd, fanciful, funny or unique, or a humorous and unexpected consequence or event. To me this is very personal, as I have always stood out from the crowd in both style and opinions. "Whimsical" is a word that in many ways describe me as a person, both in phrasing and definition. I am a woman of many strong but harmonizing contrasts, - my way of expressing myself, my style, humor, mood, social circle and interests. One moment I am studying philosophy and political science at the University, and in the next I'm playing video games and sewing pink ponies. One is just as important as the other to make me whole. A little bit light, a little heavy, always quality conscious and with humor black as the night. I am Whimsical. |
