River Song and Damian's mating was a success, and we are finally expecting kittens in December. River's due date is December 27th. This will be River's second litter, and Damian's first. River's first litter was magnificent, so now we are very excited to see what kind of offspring Damian will produce. He is a large, big boned boy with a massive, broad head, perfect ear size, shape and placing, excellent eye colour and great silky coat quality. In my opinion, the only things that River Song is lacking is size, and also her ears are a tad too narrow at the base. Damian is very large and heavy with perfect ears, so I am confident that these two will produce some great offspring!

I was initially going to give Sally quite a few months before mating her, but she has started having very frequent heat cycles and might benefit from not waiting too long. She is growing into a beautiful young lady, but I think she is a little bit too immature to have her own kittens just yet. My hope is that she matures a little bit mentally when River has her kittens in December :) In a perfect world, she would have her first litter sometime during this spring, but we will just have to wait and see. These are exciting times at cattery Whimsical's!

It's been too long since I've updated our plans and kept you all posted on what's going on here. We were initially hoping for kittens this fall, but none of the girls felt like going into heat, so there has been some delay in our plans. We have also decided to let Milja retire, and she will be neutered shortly. That means that River Song and Sally are our only breeding females at the moment.

River Song visited Damian a few weeks ago, but since it was Damian's first time with a lady and we were a little short on time, the mating was unfortunately unsuccessful. River is, however, back into heat and will be going on a date with Damian later today 😄 I have high hopes that he will understand what to do this time! We will hopefully have some adorable little Christmas babies 💕 Picture

Sally is going into her first heat at the moment. She is 10 months old, and has outgrown her mother several months ago! She will undergo the necessary tests and examinations shortly, and will hopefully be ready to be mated this coming winter 😀 Below is a picture of Sally from this summer ❤️ She is turning into a beautiful young woman!

They are so funny and adorable, and are growing so fast! They're all eating solid food and are already using the litter box :) All of the babies are so sociable and playful, and they love to cuddle ♥

I have decided to keep Sally in the cattery. She looks very promising, and with those parents, I just couldn't let her go. I initially wanted both Sandy Claws and Jack Skellington to be sold for breeding, but my mentor and I decided it would be best to only sell one male for breeding, since I am keeping Sally. Jack Skellington is now on hold. I will update with information about the status of Sandy, Fink and Oogie shortly! In the meantime, here are some of the pictures I took of them today! You can see even more pictures on our Facebook page :)

River started having contractions around 12:15 today, December 14th, and by 13:48, 5 little wonders were here ♥ Everything went very smoothly, and all of the babies are large, strong and healthy. It looks like we have 4 boys and 1 girl! River is doing great, and is enjoying her babies ♥

Milja is so sweet, too! She's been laying in the crate with River and the babies for hours, helping with grooming and emotional support ♥The girls usually aren't the best of friends, but it seems children brought them together, haha. More pictures and information about the kittens will come shortly!

She is getting huge, and we can feel little babies when cuddling her belly ❤ I haven't tried counting them yet, so I have no idea how many kittens there will be. River has started nesting a little, so I have prepared her crate. Now we'll just pamper her and play the waiting game until the 13th! We only have about 6 hours of daylight now, so it's hard to take good pictures. Here is one of baby River in stead :)

I weighed her again today, and she is really gaining rapidly. She has gained another 180 grams in the last week! Her appetite is good, and she is in great condition. Hoping for big, healthy babies! She is starting to get real nice and fat ❤ I have ordered a WiFi-camera to be able to keep an eye on her while I'm at work, and I hope it arrives in time. 

It's too dark here to take proper pictures now, so here is one from this summer ​❤ Look at that pretty girl!

She has already gained almost 500 grams since before the mating! She is starting to get real chubby around her belly ♥ It's 33 days until due date now, so she is over halfway there! This is her first litter, so I am both excited and nervous for her. I am very curious as to how Milja will behave when River has her kittens, since she has had babies before. Here is a picture of River from September ♥
